Eckhardt joins bank
Dennis Eckhardt has joined MidAmerica National Bank as senior vice president of commercial lending.
He has 22 years of banking experience throughout Iowa, including positions with Mercantile Bank, Old Kent Bank, Firstar Bank, Hawkeye Bancorporation and Banks of Iowa Inc. He most recently was chief financial officer with Midwest Pharmacy Services Corp.
Two named cardiac Fellows
Prakash Bontu, MD, FCCP, FACC, FACP, FSCAI, has been elected Fellow in The Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions, and Eric Dippel, MD, FACC, has been elected Fellow in The American College of Cardiology.
Both are members of Cardiovascular Medicine PC, with Bontu in the Davenport East Rusholme and Muscatine locations, and Dippel in the Davenport East Rusholme and Clinton locations.
Volt promotes two
Volt Services Group has promoted Stacy Larson to account manager and Tricia Whipple to senior recruiter.

Ruhl ranked nationally
Ruhl&Ruhl REALTORS, Davenport, has been ranked the 134th largest broker in the country by REAL Trends' Big Broker's Report.
Brokers were ranked by the number of residential transactions closed during the previous year. Ruhl closed 3,932 listings and/or sales during 2002, or almost 10.77 deals per day, averaging 18.81 transactions per associate.
Gray named CFO
Stephen Gray has been named chief financial officer for Adel Wholesalers Inc., Bettendorf.
Gray previously worked for McCarthy Improvement Co. for 29 years, most recently as vice president of operations.

Lane earns certification
Amy Lane, consumer loan officer for THE National Bank's Aledo office, has completed the Iowa Banker's Association consumer credit school in Ames.
The one-week program broadens officers' consumer credit knowledge and focuses on credit function, management, administration and customer relations.

The Machine Shed restaurants have been named "Best Place to Eat When YOU Buy" by Midwest Living Magazine.

Mike Bell has joined American Bank & Trust Co. as retail sales manager, and Amy Vinzant has joined the company as branch manager and retail sales assistant. Sherry Jessen also has been promoted to technology project manager and will manage the bank's information technology department and vendor relationships.
Gillespie promoted to VP
Sandra Gillespie has been promoted to vice president of logistics and planning at Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing North America.
She previously worked for 12 years at John Deere Harvester, Moline.
Gillespie is the first black woman and highest-ranking female executive at the Japanese transplant in Normal, Ill.
JA tourney raises $86K
This year, the Jim Victor Junior Achievement golf Classic raised an estimated $86,000 for area students with in-school JA programs, which involves more than 3,400 students.
The golf tournament also included a silent auction at its awards reception.
Chin earns certificate

Coleman new Genesis CEO
Andrea Coleman has been named Genesis Medical Center's first female CEO since 1970. She also will serve as a Genesis Health System vice president.
Coleman has 25 years of health-care experience, including CEO within the Seattle-based Sisters of Providence Health System and San Jose, Calif.-based Health Dimensions Inc. She also was vice president with the Virginia-based Inova Health System and most recently was vice president of relationship management for Premier Inc., a national health-care alliance.
Leo Bressanelli, Genesis Health System president and CEO, also has been elected to the board of officers and trustees of the Iowa Hospital Association, or IHA, for a three-year term.
He has served as Genesis' president and CEO since 1994 and is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Sedona announces changes
The Sedona Group, Moline, has named Sue Honsey, CPA, director of finance and chief financial officer, and Vickie Eilers division manager of its industrial staffing division.

MWA promotes two
Modern Woodmen of America, or MWA, Rock Island, has promoted Denis Prior, Davenport, to assistant national secretary, and Michele Youngquist, Eldridge, to issue department manager.
Prior will serve as assistant to the chief administrative officer and act as office manager. Youngquist will oversee the issue department's responsibilities.
Gengler, Seres retire
Cynthia Gengler retired April 30 after 30 years of service. She was the project manager for Deere & Co.'s world headquarters in Moline.
Richard Seres also retired effective April 30 after 23 years of service. He was a supply management specialist with Deere's world headquarters.

Stolk earns IAR award
Dennis Stolk of the Greater Davenport Board of Realtors has received the Diamond Individual Achievement Award from the Iowa Association of Realtors for more than $5 million in sales.
Crippen gets Ryder honor
David Crippen, service team leader with Ryder System Inc., has been nationally recognized by the Miami-based transportation company with its Maintenance Excellence Award for outstanding customer service and safety performance in 2002. This is the second year Crippen has received the honor.

Hart joins QCBT
David Hart has joined Quad City Bank & Trust, Bettendorf, as vice president of credit administration.
In his new role, Hart will supervise loan operations and credit administration activity, including the bank's credit analysis and loan-quality functions.

Riekeman gets promotion
Guy Riekeman, D.O., president of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, has been promoted to chancellor of the Palmer University System. The current chancellor, Michael, Crawford, will retire June 30.
Riekeman will oversee Palmer and its two colleges in California and Florida and other parts of the university system, including the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research, Palmer Institute of Professional Advancement and Palmer Foundation of Chiropractic History.
Cravero awarded license
Joseph Cravero has received his real-estate brokers license from the Illinois Office of Banks and Real Estate.
He plans to open a Quad-Cities real-estate firm, Quint-City Real Estate, at the National City Bank Building in Moline. Cravero also is a Rock Island attorney and a broker for Sunbelt Business Brokers of the Quad-Cities.
Hart named vice chair
Thom Hart, president of the Quad-City Development Group, has been named vice chairman of the Iowa Department of Transportation Commission, while Barbara MacGregor of Mason City has been unanimously elected chairwoman.

Meade named new director
Erik Meade has been promoted to managing director of the Quad-Cities office of Henry Russell Bruce, a marketing communications, research, advertising, public relations and brand-identity firm, based in Cedar Rapids.
In his new role, Meade is responsible for managing the Davenport office, clients and staff. He also will continue his previous role as account supervisor, developing client-brand communications programs for HRB clients.
Four receive glass training
Galesburg, Ill.-based First Glass employees Tim Cramer, Jared Bruening, Alberto Hernandez Jr. and Ben Wolf recently attended the Auto Glass TechTraining seminar in Des Moines.
The four-day course was presented by the Performance Achievement Group, an Automotive Service education certified training provider.

The Moline Preservation Society has recognized Jerry's Market and Katy's Import Foods for remaining family-owned over the years.
The awards were presented May 21 at Butterworth Center. Jerry's is owned by Tony and Rhonda Ceurvorst and features groceries, deli items and Swedish foods. Katy's is owned by Arthur Bodenbender and features imported European goods, cookies, rusk, coffee cakes, sausage and liver sausage.
Scott named NAI manager
Steve Scott, CCIM, has been named regional director for NAI Ruhl & Ruhl Commercial Co.'s retail council.
Scott currently is vice president of retail for NAI and specializes in commercial real-estate brokerage services. In his new role, Scott will coordinate NAI's retail brokers throughout the Midwest.

IHS earns high ranking
Trinity Regional Health System's parent organization, Iowa Health System, has been ranked 59th out of the top 100 integrated health-care networks in the country by Verispan, a Chicago-based research firm.
Verispan's rating system profiles each of the top 100 networks based on eight success factors: outpatient utilization, integrated technology, hospital utilization, financial stability, services and access, contract capabilities, physicians and integration. This year, Verispan also looked at the details and stages of integration in different areas, including consolidated services, information systems and disease-management programs.
Results were published in Modern Healthcare and Healthcare Financial Management magazines.
Wells Fargo donates $2.9M
In 2002, Wells Fargo & Co. donated $2.9 million to Iowa organizations. Nationwide, the company donated more than $82.3 million to more than 12,000 nonprofit organizations last year, a 25 percent increase over 2001 figures.
The company invests 2 percent of its after-tax profits back into the community.
Wells Fargo also announced the results of its annual volunteer survey, which showed that Iowa employees volunteered more than 113,000 hours last year.
Downing design selected
Bettendorf's Rivermont Collegiate College Preparatory School addition, designed by Downing Architects PC, Bettendorf, has been selected to appear in Learning by Design magazine, published by the National School Boards Association.
The Rivermont design, which cost $4.5 million and was completed in August 2001, was among 112 projects selected nationwide and the only one in Iowa. The project included a two-level, 28,000-square-foot addition of classrooms for the lower grades along with a cafeteria, kitchen, media center, auditorium and skylit central hall.
Suburban gains award
Suburban Construction, Davenport, has received the 2002 Dealer of the Year Award from Republic Doors & Windows, Chicago, for its purchasing volume and customer service.
Republic supplies vinyl windows and doors, and Suburban is a home-improvement company.
