(Updated: 7:57 p.m.) MUSCATINE, Iowa — One day after former U.S. Sen. John Edwards said he was “embarrassed” by reports last week that his campaign paid a Beverly Hills stylist $400 for his haircuts, the Democratic presidential candidate realized that the issue may not go away soon.
During a campaign appearance today at Muscatine High School, Jack Dotson of Wapello, who is balding, told Edwards that he had heard about the now-famous $400 haircuts.
Dotson then asked if he could get a haircut for half that amount because he has half as much hair as the candidate. Edwards responded, “These days, I wish my hair looked like yours.”
