Youngest Bettendorf Swim Club team finishes fourth at event

Members of the Bettendorf Swim Club braved the weather to participate in the 12 and Under State Championship on Feb. 23-25 at Coe College in Cedar Rapids. The team placed fourth overall as a club.

To compete at this meet, swimmers must have made a qualifying time as set by Iowa Swimming Inc.

There were 27 swimmers representing Bettendorf Swim Club in their respective age groups.

The participants in the 12 and Under State Championships were:

8 and Under Girls:  Emily Delleman, Abbey Wilder.

8 and Under Boys:  Jacob Brown, Zach Bunn, Grant Nickles, DJ Pinter.

9 and 10 Girls:  Hannah Crane, Ashton Ehrecke, Evan Hundley, Sammy Kokjohn, Kristine Pinter, Alyssa Wagenknecht.

9 and 10 Boys:  Jack Doyle, Colin Helland, Alex Walton.

11 and 12 Girls:  Rebecca Alves, Annie Delleman, Callie Heiderscheit, Danielle Moore, Megan Nickles, Sarah Pfeiffer, Rachel Schermer, Ellie Wilder.

11 and 12 Boys:  Cole Bunn, Luke Ketelaar, Matthew Remy, Aaron Scheerer. 

Top eight place finishers for 12 and under state champs:
