DeWITT, Iowa — Visitors will have a chance to test their strength at the Clinton County Fair, which opens today in DeWitt.
A new event added this year will be the Monster Arm Wrestling competition, which is open to the public, Linda Jackson, secretary for the Clinton County Fair Board, said. Weigh-ins for the event begin at 5 p.m. Friday with the competition starting at 6 p.m.
Generally, the most popular fair events are the rodeo, which begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, and the demolition derby, which begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jackson said.
Other events at this year’s fair include teen dances at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, The Bill Riley Talent Show, which begins at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, and 8 p.m. performances by Coupe DeVille on Friday and The Love Dogs on Saturday.
Fair passes good for admission every day are $15 for all ages. Admission is free today. Daily admission Thursday through Sunday is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 9-18. On Sunday, admission for everyone ages 9 and up is $5. Children under 8 are admitted free.
