On July 3, I had the fortunate opportunity to meet with Sen. Hillary Clinton and her husband at the rally in Davenport. I must say that for this Iowa farm girl and teacher, it was an honor and a thrill to be able to talk to both of them one on one after the rally. Sen. Clinton is a warm, intelligent, and receptive individual who showed genuine care and concern for the people of Iowa and for this mom who has a son in Iraq. Both she and her husband thanked me for his service and offered their help if there was anything that my son and my family needed. I felt that she has a good command for the issues at hand.
I would like to thank her staff, especially Jeremy Warneke. Without their aid, I would have never been able to have had this experience. I was also very impressed with the fact that Sen. Clinton has Iraqi and Afghanistan war veterans on her campaign staff, including Jeremy.
This opportunity has given me a much better insight into the campaigns of several of the candidates and to what they have to offer the citizens of the U.S. In closing, my whole experience with the rally and talking to the Senator and former President is something I will always remember. Thank you for coming to the Quad-Cities and for the opportunity to talk to you, express my concerns and my opinions.
