Two Democratic presidential candidates and a host of dignitaries representing other White House hopefuls will be at the Scott County Democratic Party summer picnic today.

The picnic, to be held from noon to 3:30 p.m., will be at state Sen. Joe Seng’s second property at 901 Tremont Ave., Davenport.

U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, D-Iowa, will headline the event, which includes a picnic lunch and beverage.

U.S. Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina will be there. Both are vying for the Democratic nomination for president.

Jackie Dodd, the wife of Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., also will be there along with Terry McAuliffe, chairman of Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign; former U.S. Rep. Brad Carson of Oklahoma, representing Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.; and Brian Condit, deputy chief of staff to New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.

The public is welcome. Tickets at the door are $25 for an individual and $60 for a family of four.
