Auditions set for Quad-City Symphony

Auditions for player vacancies at the Quad-City Symphony Orchestra will be held at 8 a.m. Sept. 1 in the Bergendoff Fine Arts Building of Augustana College at 7th Avenue and 38th Street, Rock Island.

Openings include assistant principal horn, trumpet, clarinet, oboe, violin, viola, cello, double bass and substitutes and extras for all strings. All candidates are required to perform a solo from concerto or solo literature as well as orchestra excerpts provided by the orchestra. The 2007-08 season includes 12 classical concerts and three pops concerts. A player’s season obligation includes 35 rehearsals and 15 performances. Players are compensated.
