A Moline man is facing multiple felony charges, including 10 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, for incidents with a Moline girl stemming as far back as early 2002.

Mark A. Hodges, 37, was charged Thursday in Rock Island County Circuit Court  with the 10 assault counts and two felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Hodges was not in custody as of Thursday afternoon.

According to court records, the first alleged incidents occurred from Jan. 1 to Feb. 28, 2002, when the female victim was 11 years old. More incidents allegedly occurred in 2003 and 2004 with the same victim.

Moline police Sgt. Jeff Hites said the incidents were first reported in September after the victim decided to come forward. Police spent the past few months investigating and discussing the case with the state’s attorney’s office.

“It’s been a while putting together all the facts,” Hites said. “When you’re talking about that many counts it’s going to take a while to gather all the information you need.”

Hites said police want to ask Hodges questions once he is in custody.
