Christian Care in Rock Island is collecting monetary and food donations as part of a challenge by The Feinstein Foundation of Cranston, Rock Island. For the 11th straight year, The Feinstein Foundation will divide $1 million among hunger fighting agencies nationwide, using it to help agencies raise funds and stock their food pantries during March and April. The Feinstein Foundation will match every dollar and every food item donated to Christian Care with a percentage of their $1 million in funding.
Last year, Christian Care raised $42,618 and added almost 38,000 pounds of food to its food pantry. If you would like to make a monetary donation, send a check to Christian Care, P.O. Box 4176, Rock Island, Il 61204-4176. Food donations can be brought to Christian Care, 2209 3rd Ave., Rock Island. For more information, contact Deb Walker, donor relations coordinator, at (309) 788-2273.
