Mary Ann Kuharski, nationally known author from Minneapolis, will speak at the second MOM-Heart of the Home Renewal Day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 12 at Culemans Hall at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1400 16th Ave., Moline.

The theme for the day is “A Mother’s Journey with Prayer and Humor.” Kuharski will speak in the morning about the “Speed Bumps and Detours” mothers may encounter in their lives. In the afternoon her topic is “Thank God for Road Maps and Tour Guides” for mothers to use in their personal spiritual journeys. After each speech, Kuharski will lead small group discussions.

The renewal day is designed to give mothers of all ages an opportunity to grow spiritually by devoting some time to contemplate their vocations as mothers, without the distractions and the hurried demands of their daily lives.

The event also will include group discussions, inspirational music, a special mass, Eucharistic adoration, Mary’s stations of the cross, the sacrament of reconciliation, and a book fair.

Advance registration is required. The registration fee is $20 before March 31 and then $25 until April 7. Included in the fee is a light breakfast and lunch. For a registration form, go to mom-heartofthehome.org or call Elizabeth Hill at (309) 236-5331.
