Actor-singer Jeff Daniels will perform at Circa ‘21 Dinner Playhouse, downtown Rock Island, at 6 and 9:15 p.m. Thursday, May 1.
Daniels, the star of movies including “Terms of Endearment” and “Dumb and Dumber,” has released three albums. Proceeds from all of the albums go to the Purple Rose Theater, a nonprofit arts organization he founded in his hometown of Chelsea, Mich.
Born and raised in Chelsea (population 5,000), Daniels returned home after starring in Woody Allen’s “The Purple Rose of Cairo” and realized his dream of a professional theater company featuring Midwestern actors, directors, designers and playwrights and producing plays about middle America: The Purple Rose Theater.
Tickets for both performances are $27.50 and available by calling (309) 786-7733, Ext. 2.
