Hampton issues boil order

The Village of Hampton has issued a boil order for residents who live in an area of Hampton

The boil order area is the 200 block of 3rd Street, the 200 block of 4th Street, the 200 block of 5th Street, the 300 and 400 block of 2nd Avenue, and the 300 and 400 blocksof 3rd Avenue.

Water service was shut off to repair a water main in the alley behind Hampton Elementary School.

Residents are required to boil all water used for drinking and culinary purposes until notified that it is safe to drink. Water should be boiled for 5 minutes before drinking or cooking.

Village officials will notify residents when the boil order is lifted, which is not expected until Friday. For further information contact the Village Hall at 755-7591 or the Village web site www.hamptonil.org
