Circa ’21 auditions for 'The Full Monty' planned

Auditions for Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse’s production of “The Full Monty” will be at 10 a.m. Sunday and Monday, April 27-28, at the theater, 1828 3rd Ave., Rock Island.

Those auditioning should be “excellent actor/singers who move well,” according to Circa. Actors are asked to bring a non-returnable photo, a resume and sheet music for 16 bars of a prepared song. An accompanist will be provided. No a cappella or CDs will be permitted.

Rehearsals begin Sept. 4, and the show is from Sept. 19 to Nov. 8. All roles in the professional production are paid. A complete breakdown of the roles is available at the “auditions” page on the theater’s Web site, Circa21.com.

“The Full Monty” is a musical comedy about six buddies whose desperate plan to get their lives back together requires them to triumph over their fears, their nerves — and their clothes. Based on the popular movie of the same name, the musical was nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including best musical. Jamal McDonald, who appeared in the recent national tour of the show, will direct this production.
