Discovery Shop celebrates anniversary events

Bettendorf Discovery Shop will mark its 20th anniversary April 28 to May 3 with door prizes and special sales. On May 1, a garden event will feature sales of garden figurines, flowers, spring clothing and decorative items.

Discovery Shop accepts donations of gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories, collectibles, jewelry, furniture and home decorating items. A manager and 100 volunteers who staff the shop have raised more than $2.2 million for the American Cancer Society. The goal for 2008 goal is $308,000.

Discovery Shop, 2397 Cumberland Square Drive, Bettendorf, is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
