I want to thank all the non-smokers who were for the stop-smoking bill. Because of you, all of us will have higher medical insurance now. The longer people live, the higher insurance gets.
So, I hope none of them complain when theirs goes up. I know secondhand smoke kills, all 10 to 20 people a year in Iowa. If smoking bothers people, why don’t they sit in the non-smoking half? Or, for the people who work at bars: If they don’t like smoke, why work there?
What is next for the state? Maybe let’s stop the overweight from eating too much. That’s more of a problem than smoking.
Thank you, Iowa, for costing us more money. I’m sure you’ll feel that more than the smoke. By the way, I’m not a smoker!
