    Area residents are invited to join the Quad-Cities Walk to Cure Diabetes on Saturday at Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley, Ill. Registration begins at

    7:30 a.m., with the walk at 9 a.m.

    Family activities include educational booths and exhibits, games for children and performances by Quad-City blues musician Ellis Kell. The Genesis Today radio show will broadcast live from the event from 8 to 9 a.m. The zoo box office opens at

    9:30 a.m. and regular admission will be charged.

    Proceeds go to the Greater Iowa Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. For more information, call (319) 393-3850. Registration will be available at the event.
