1. >>> SHOW TO SEE: Carney, The Brakes and Q-C band The Roadless will perform at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at the Redstone Room, 129 Main St., Davenport. The Brakes are touring to promote their debut album, “Tale Of Two Cities,” which was released nationally on Tuesday.

“Tale Of Two Cities” is the best of the band’s live performances in New York and Philadelphia. The result is a high-energy rock album with a sentimental side in which band members occasionally trade in their guitars for trumpets and saxophones. Tickets are $7. For more information, visit redstoneroom.com or brakesband.com on the Web.

2. >>> Quad-Cities Wine Club: The Young Professionals Network, or YPN, of the Quad-Cities Wine Club will meet at 5 p.m.   at The Brown Bottle, 1624 5th Ave., Moline.

YPN is a group for Quad-Citians in  their 20s and 30s, and the Wine Club meets once a month at area bars and restaurants.

Wine Club members are responsible for the cost of their own food and beverages.

To find out more, visit ypnqc.org on the Web or e-mail Heather Mattern at hmmattern@gmail.com.

3. >>> HE SAID WHAT?: “I’m the writer, I’m the director, I’m the editor, I’m the performer. And all those people I’ve been — and still am — are out there with me. The playwright’s there, he helps write the songs. The director knows about pace. The performer, the stage actor knows                how to hold a live audience. The film actor knows how to keep a closeup. All those personas are out there helping the singer-songwriter.” — Actor-musician Jeff Daniels, who performed at Circa ‘21 last week

4. >>> Teen Scene: Teens can work with a wide range of media to create their own sketchbook and learn about Op Art, the historical origins of tattooing and the art of scribbling during Teen Scene at the Figge Art Museum in downtown Davenport.

The class is $60 for nonmembers and $50 for members. Teen Scene will be 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10. To sign up, contact Heather Aaronson at (563) 326-7804 or haaronson@ figgeartmuseum.org.
