Ex-Davenport man sentenced for child porn

Former Davenport resident Gordon Cox, 45, now of Williston, S.C., has been sentenced to more than 14 years in a federal penitentiary after he was convicted of child pornography charges.

Cox was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court, Davenport.

He was sentenced to 14 years and one month in prison for receiving and distributing child pornography, and 10 years for possessing child pornography. The sentences are to run concurrently rather than consecutively.

Cox also must spend 10 years on supervised release after he completes his prison term. There is no parole in the federal prison system.

The investigation was conducted by the Davenport Police Department.
