One man was arrested and a woman ticketed Thursday during what Davenport police are describing as a road rage incident.

According to the arrest affidavit, Henry Eugene McAden Jr., of Davenport, was the passenger in a gold Pontiac Grand Am. At 5:12 p.m. at a traffic light at River Drive and Mound Street near the Village of East Davenport, McAden allegedly got out of the car and approached a vehicle directly behind his driven by Pamela Jean Yerington, 51, also of Davenport.

Police said McAden yelled and spit on the woman, accusing her of tailgating.

Yerington allegedly followed McAden back to the Grand Am, allegedly taking a container of pepper spray with her. She then allegedly sprayed McAden with the pepper spray through the window of the car.

McAden allegedly hit Yerington three times in the face.

McAden was taken to the Scott County Jail on a charge of assault with injury. He was released after posting bond. Yerington was issued a citation for simple assault.
