Good Friday, Quad-Cities. At 6 a.m. it’s 43 degrees under fair skies. Today’s high will be 63 degrees with a slight chance of showers between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Tonight’s low will be around 42 degrees.

You might want to rethink your plans for a Mother’s Day cookout. After a decent Saturday afternoon, the weather turns wet. There’s an 80 percent chance of rain on Sunday with a high near 55 degrees. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch are possible.

Several area rivers have dipped below flood stage including the Wapsipinicon, Cedar and Iowa rivers as things slowly begin to get back to normal along the river. The Mississippi River in the Quad-Cities is still above flood stage at 15.7 feet, but steadily falling. It should fall to below flood stage next week.

Davenport reports that its riverfront skatepark will remain closed through the weekend as crews continue cleaning up and disinfecting the area.
