All-Metro

First team

Marquisha Fowler, Moline, 5-10, Fr., forward

Led 23-8 team with 275 points, 219 rebounds

“Marquisha is a very gifted player and athlete and will only get better. A gym rat, plays basketball all the time. Before she's done with, she could be one of the better players to come out of the area. If you could play eighth-graders on varsity, she might have played last year.”

— Steve Ford, Moline coach

Amber Harrington, Davenport North, 5-9, So., guard/forward

Led team in scoring (19.1 points a game) and assists (4.1)

“Anyone can see that Amber is a heck of a scorer, and that probably gets the most attention, but I personally believe she is just as good, and maybe better, of a passer. She has very good vision and anticipates things well. She sees the floor well and can make things happen for her teammates.”

— Chris Hall, North coach

Lauren Lybbert, Davenport Assumption, 6-1, Sr., center

11.3 points, 5.2 rebounds a game; shot 64.4 percent from field

“The thing that a lot of people don’t realize about Lauren is she’s got great hands ... If she was playing football, she’d be a great tight end. She’s going up and getting balls that a lot of kids don’t get.”

— Todd Borrison, Assumption coach

Annie Smith, Davenport Assumption, 6-2, Sr., forward

Conference MVP; 12.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.8 blocks a game; made 39 3-pointers

“She’s such a multi-dimension kid ... We weren’t saving her. For a

6-2 kid to play at the top of your (zone) and still bounce back and average 13 points a game, that says a lot about how versatile she is.”

— Todd Borrison, Assumption coach

Danielle Wozney, Muscatine, 5-8, Sr., guard

20.6 points, 8.4 rebounds a game;

28 3-points

“Had the skill set of a post player but could do things a guard could do. ... Although she did a good share of our scoring, she shot a good percentage, too. ... Definitely had a knack of finding openings around the basket.”

— Jeff Tank,

Muscatine coach

Can penetrate but also has developed a real good pull-up jump shot.”  — Craig Mammosser, Rock Falls coach
