As I watch the difference between the press coverage of Obama’s relationship with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and McCain’s embracement of Pastor John Hagee, it is my perception that the relationship receiving less coverage is the more problematic relationship.
McCain has actively pursued the endorsement of a controversial religious leader without explanation while Obama, who was introduced to Wright at a young age, has publicly indicated he does not agree with Wright’s inflammatory statements.
It is my impression that the the sensationalism of this wedge issue sells better than fair and accurate reporting on real issues.
