Lavender Crest Winery in Colona, Ill., has recently introduced three new wines to its product offering.
Encore is a dessert wine crafted from Frontenac Grapes grown locally by the Geneseo, Ill., natives Terry and Willy Minneart and Matt and Leslie Storm and pairs well with anything chocolate.
Crimson is a dry red wine which is a blend of Frotenac and Cabernet Franc. Toulon grape grower Fred Sams from Indian Creek Vineyard and the Storm-Minneart team from Winding Vines Vineyard contributed the Frontenac grapes for Crimson.
Red Velvet is a smooth, velvety semi-sweet red wine. Crafted from locally grown Marechal Foch grapes, this wine is fruity and is delicious served at room temperature or slightly chilled.
