Wanted: drag anchor
I love rain. I know it isn’t good for the bike, but I couldn’t help but throw my head back and enjoy. That is until I rolled off the north end of Government Bridge and discovered as I was quickly picking up speed that my not-to-be-relied-upon brakes were useless!
Leaping down from my seat with my right foot ahead, I hopped up and down on my toes to bring the bike to a stop. My toes hurt like heck from being so cruelly jammed, but it distracted me from my bruised bum for a bit.

Day 3: Cha Cha Cha
This morning I feel like someone in a dance class. All of a sudden you feel like you’re getting it, the rhythm of the road. This has become my morning rumba.
This is my final work day this week, so Thursday I might hook up the Burley and buy groceries at the new Hy-Vee in Rock Island.
I have been reading the other blogs and I think the “Tangerine” post has given me an idea. My bike needs a name. Hmmm ... I’ll have to think on it.
