Chef Brad Scott, culinary arts instructor at Scott Community College, has been awarded the national leadership initiative award for Excellence in Food Service Education by the Center for the Advancement of Food Service Education Commission, or CAFE.

 The award is sponsored by the Idaho Potato Commission. This year’s award was based on the following criteria:

* Successful methods of instructional delivery

* Exceptional community outreach

* Student competitions

Scott has been instrumental in building relationships with the area high schools through the development of the Culinary Youth Apprenticeship.

His students have participated in many pork, beef and seafood competitions as well as Scott Community College’s United Way CHILI Challenge.
