It’s wedding season and when you’re in your 20s that means all your friends are either getting married or having babies.
My friends are doing both, although not at the same time. I’ve already had to send in one regret because of a prior commitment, and will be attending two more ceremonies before the year is through.
I’ve gone to area department stores and a couple of bridal shops looking for a dress to wear, but haven’t had any luck.
Part of the problem is I don’t really like the bold prints that are fashionable this season. They are too busy for me.
And considering I’ll probably have just as many weddings to go to next summer, I’d like to get a dress that I can still wear a year from now without looking ridiculous.
I’m also hoping to avoid getting a dress that is also marketed as a bridesmaid dress so I don’t look like I might be part of the bridal party.
A friend and I went to emeDesigns in the Bucktown Center for the Arts in downtown Davenport today, but it was closed. We’re headed back on Friday, but can anyone recommend a local store where I’d be able to get a classy, timeless dress to wish my friends love and happiness in?
