DUBUQUE, Iowa — Deere & Co. is cutting jobs at its factory in Dubuque.

The company says 34 jobs will be cut early next month because of slowing market conditions.

The John Deere Dubuque Works makes heavy equipment, including backhoe loaders, crawler dozers and skid steer loaders.

Plant General Manager John May says market conditions for many of the plant’s products are depressed, which requires the company to take action to remain competitive.

May says the cuts are effective on June 2.

Deere is based in Moline.
