6-year-old left outside bar while man drinks, police say

A Davenport man is accused of child endangerment after leaving a 6-year-old outside a bar while he went inside to drink, according to court documents.

Shawn Lee Warrington, 34, of 702 W. 7th St., was supposed to watch the child. Instead, he left the child outside of a bar in the 800 block of West 2nd Street for approximately 30 minutes, court documents say. Warrington also offered the child $5 to walk home by himself.

Police were called to the area about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.
