Good morning, Quad-Cities. At 5:30 a.m. it’s 72 degrees under cloudy skies in the Quad-Cities. Today should bring a brief respite from the rains as mostly cloudy skies will prevail. It will be breezy with a high near 86 degrees. Tonight there’s a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 69 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Remember, parts of River Drive in downtown Davenport are closed because of flood preparations. Watch for detours. Also flooding on the Wapsipinicon River has closed Scott Park Road.
The Mississippi River at Rock Island — (15 feet flood stage) is currently at 15.94 feet and is forecast to crest at 18.2 feet sometime overnight Friday, according to the National Weather Service’s Web site.
