The Guess Who and Foghat will be the headliners for the fourth annual River Roots Live the weekend of Aug. 22-23 in Davenport’s LeClaire Park.
Organizers announced the lineup for the festival — produced by the DavenportOne downtown partnership and supporting sponsors River Music Experience and Living Lands & Waters — this morning.
The Guess Who, a Canadian band, has had numerous hits, including “American Woman,” “No Sugar Tonight” and “These Eyes.”
British blues-rock band Foghat has had hits such as “Slow Ride,” “Fool For the City” and “I Just Want to Make Love to You.”
The Guess Who will headline the Saturday festival, with performers including Joe Bonamassa, the Jeff Coffin Mu’tet, Assembly of Dust, Peter Francis & The Flyers, Lissie, Daphne Willis & Co., Woodbox Gang, Jim the Mule, Rude Punch, The They and the Post-Mortems.
Joining Foghat on Friday will be Brother Trucker, Ellis Kell & Andrew Landers, Head Held High, Bumper Crop, the Myers Brothers and Sons of Apollo.
New this year is a Friday bike night featuring free admission for bikers with tickets from Wiebler Harley-Davidson in Davenport, plus a Guitar Hero III tournament.
The Ribfest, which was incorporated into River Roots Live last year, will continue as part of the festival. Admission will be free from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and $5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is $10 per day or $15 for an advance two-day pass. The passes are available at the River Music Experience in Davenport, Co-Op Records in Davenport and Moline, and online at RiverRootsLive.com.
