The Moline Police Department is investigating a late-night robbery Sunday at the STAR Citgo Mart, 4625 Avenue of the Cities.

Three squad cars, including a K-9 unit, remained at the scene about 11 p.m. Sunday after a robbery was reported about 10:15 p.m.

Police said that two white male suspects, both described as slender, entered the store. The store’s two owners, according to police, said the taller of the two displayed a black semi-automatic handgun. Both suspects had their faces covered with a white cloth.

They pair left the area after getting an undisclosed amount of money. The entrance to the convenience store/gasoline station was roped off with yellow police tape at 11:30 p.m.

Officers used a K-9 dog that tracked the scent to 46th Street and 22nd Avenue, where the dog lost the scent (possibly when the suspects got into a car, police said). The Illinois State Crime Scene is processing the scene.

Anyone with information should contact the Moline Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at (309) 797-0403, or Crimestoppers, (309) 762-9500.

No one was injured during the robbery, police said.
