Erie school board approves salary raises

ERIE, Ill. — Erie principals and office workers will receive 3 percent increases in their salaries.

Middle School Principal Keith Morgan will receive $86,508.17 a year, an increase of $2,519.66; high school Principal Tim McConnell, $83,021.63, an increase of $2,418.11; elementary principal Margaret Carey, $69,628, an increase of $2,028; bookkeeper, Deb Carpenter, $41,729.94, up $1,215.44; Sue Williams, secretary, $40,852.13, up $1,189.87; Vinus Williams, technology director, $47,799.83, up $1,392.23; Tom Pratt, transportation director, $33.990, up $990; and Jessica Johnson, treasurer, $9,640.80, up $280.

The school board also hired International K-9 Operations of Sterling for drug search services for 2008-09. Three random searches will be conducted for $430 per search, up $30 from last year. The company also gave the district a certificate for a free drug search in the next year.
