The Figge Art Museum wants you to reconsider a simple everyday item in a new exhibit opening Saturday.

“Teapot: Object to Subject” includes 45 pieces that were judged from the 2004 Survey of Contemporary American Teapots at the Craft Alliance in St. Louis. The best of both established artists and the most promising, innovative new artists from the survey are represented, and their artistic approaches vary from tromp d’oeil to the whimsical and sculptural.
