Gordmans Inc. is contributing a total of $5,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to assist with flood relief efforts in Iowa and Illinois.

The Omaha-based apparel and home fashions retailer has Iowa stores in Cedar Rapids, Coralville and Davenport as well as one in Moline. The four stores conducted a “Helping Hands” fundraising campaign earlier this month. Gordmans guests and associates purchased paper “Helping Hands” at the checkout for $1 each or made larger donations. A contribution by Gordmans brought the total donation to $5,000.

“We are proud to be part of these communities whose citizens have shown such generosity during the aftermath of such a widespread natural disaster,” said Jeff Gordman, president and chief executive officer.

Donations will be made to American Red Cross chapters serving each store’s area.
