Show sympathy for pet loss

Sorry there are those who feel that the article on Maple, the therapy dog, was a waste of space. (“Former therapy dog dies after battle with cancer,” June 25) It was a human interest story that reminded us that pets offer us love unconditionally and have an important place in our life.

Each of us who has ever loved a dog knows how difficult losing a pet can be.
