The most Democratic process we have is to be able to participate in primaries and caucuses. It provides us with the opportunity to select and support the candidate of our choice.

My candidate for president was U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton. I have long respected, admired and supported her. The strength she possesses made it possible for her to continue her candidacy until every eligible voter could cast their vote. She did so despite the pressure from those who wanted her to cease her campaign.

Her candidacy has given hope and inspiration to millions. The glass ceiling is now full of holes, giving many from all walks of life opportunity to secure their dreams. Health care, education opportunities, parity of all levels, as well as the right to have a say in your employment, and many other issues that affect our lives are now priorities. She is my hero and I thank her for all that she is!

With that said, as a strong Democrat and a staunch trade unionist, I believe we must unite.

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama is our candidate for president. I congratulate him and pledge my full support.

We now have the opportunity to elect a leader who shares our views, concerns and provide change.

Unity must prevail and we should do so, without labels, but as American citizens voting for change. Hope can turn into reality.
