Donating blood is quick, safe and rather simple. By giving up just an hour of one’s time, three lives can be saved. The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has been dedicated to collecting a safe and plentiful supply of blood in our area since 1974.

This year, MVRBC has created a new program called LifeCorps. LifeCorps consists of 16 Quad-City area juniors and seniors who are enthusiastic about saving lives through blood donation. Together, my team members and I are working to make a difference in our communities through blood donation.

I am calling out to the community, asking for help donating blood. Forty percent of the population is eligible to donate blood, however, only 4 percent actually do. That 4 percent help make a difference and truly are heroes in the eyes of those who benefit from their selflessness.

If you are interested in blood donation, please contact any of the area blood centers listed below to schedule an appointment:

Davenport:  5500 Lakeview Pkwy. (563) 359-5401

West Davenport: CASI Building 1035 W. Kimberly Road

Moline: 4650 38th Avenue (309) 797-3415

Rock Island: 3850 Blackhawk Rd. (309) 732-3288

Upon arrival at the donation site, I would greatly appreciate if you would mention that you’re donating for LifeCorps.
