I called the Scott County Health Department and asked if smoking was allowed at the Blues Fest this weekend. Their answer was: Wherever people gather for an event, smoking is not allowed. I asked about the Quad-City Times Bix 7 and she said it applied to that, too. I then asked how it would be enforced. She said the police or public health department would.

What gives?

You can’t smoke at the Blues Fest, Quad-City Times Bix 7 and the

Mississippi Valley Fair, but you can smoke at the Iowa State Fair! They don’t know who’s going to enforce this law, so I have an idea: Let’s let the people who voted for this ban in this area — namely state Reps. Cindy Winckler, Elesha Gayman and Sen. Joe Seng, police these events and report any violations that occur!

We voted these people into office and come next election we should vote them out!
