LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Spencer Fisher still has never lost two fights in a row in his mixed martial arts career.

Fisher, a five-year Miletich Fighting Systems vet, fought off a guillotine choke late and won a unanimous decision over Jeremy Stephens on Saturday night during The Ultimate Figher 7 season finale at the Palms Resort and Casino.

All three judges scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Fisher, running his record to 22-4 and giving him a rebound win coming off a loss to Frank Edgar at UFC 78 in November.

“The guy is tough as crap,” Fisher said of Stephens, who fights out of Des Moines. “He’s tough. I knew that coming in.”

Fisher controlled Stephens (15-3) for the first two rounds before being put on his back twice in the third. He twice was nearly caught in a guillotine, once in the final 30 seconds, but fought it off to claim the win.

Earlier in the night, Bettendorf native and MFS light heavyweight Drew McFedries improved to 7-3 with a TKO win against Marvin Eastman.
