Sean Moeller listens to a lot of bands. The founder of Daytrotter.com, a Web site that records up and coming bands and provides free downloads of the recording sessions, regularly books acts from around the country to record in Futureappletree Studio 1 in Rock Island.

The best of those bands and artists Moeller schedules to play at local venues to give inexpensive shows. He has eight shows scheduled this month alone.

So when Moeller told me, not just once but three times on separate occasions with a sparkle in his eye, that of all the shows and artists coming through this month he is most excited about Tim Fite, I put the show on my calendar.

Fite plays a mixture of country, alternative and hip-hop, three genres that almost never go together.

To check out Fite’s music, visit myspace.com/timfite. His Daytrotter session is also available for download at daytrotter.com.

The show begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Huckleberry’s Pizza Parlor, 233 18th St., Rock Island. Local band Chrash opening. Cover is $6.
