FOR TEENS: The Davenport Public Library continues its Teen Night Transformation series Tuesday with Got Henna?

During the program, teens will attend a henna workshop in which they can use the temporary body art medium on themselves to create their favorite band logo, school symbol or original artwork.

Teen Night Transformations focuses on helping teens change their inner and outer selves. All programs are free and held at the Fairmount branch of the library, 3000 N. Fairmount St.

Call (563) 326-7893 or visit davenportlibrary.com on the Web for more information.

HE SAID WHAT?: The Dodos are Meric Long on guitar and Logan Kroeber on drums. When recording “Visiter” last July, Long said the Dodos abandoned the idea of being able to reproduce the record live so they could make the best album possible.

But the duo still wanted all the music to be played live at shows, so they brought on Joe Haener, who plays keyboards and fills in a couple of other musical holes.

“I’m not into the idea of using drum machines and things like that,” Long said. “I wanted it to be very organic. I want it to be very performance-based. I want people to see things being hit and strings breaking.”

FOR THE FAMILY: The Bix Beiderbecke Youth Memorial Jazz Band will perform Friday night at the Bill Bowe Memorial Bandshell in Veterans Memorial Park, 1645 23rd St., Bettendorf.

The free performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and is part of the Bettendorf Park Band’s spring and summer season.

In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the Herbert D. Goettsch Community Center.

The event is free. For more information, call (563) 332-5879.
