Flood assistance applications accepted

Residents of Rock Island and Mercer counties who are experiencing flood-related difficulties can apply for help noon to 6 p.m. Thursday at Community Outreach Church, 319 12th St., East Moline. Qualified homeowners may receive assistance with basic needs such as utility bills.

In addition, applicants may request help with home repairs including electrical, furnace, air conditioner, drain tiles, basement waterproofing or re-weatherization. Renters meeting income guidelines are eligible if landlords agree to program terms. Rock Island County residents unable to attend may contact Project NOW’s Moline office, 711 7th Ave., or call (309) 764-8092. Mercer County applicants may contact Project NOW in Aledo at 605½ SW 3rd St. or (309) 582-2644.
