Car crash kills Thomson teenager

THOMSON, Ill. — An 18-year-old Thomson woman died Thursday from injuries she received in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department said.
Carroll County deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover accident at about 10 p.m., Wednesday on Illinois 84 about a mile south of Riverview Road.
Sonya Foster, the driver of the vehicle, who was heading northbound on Illinois 84, is believed to have swerved to miss a deer. Her vehicle left the roadway and rolled over.
Foster was thrown from the vehicle and seriously injured. She was taken to a Clinton, Iowa, hospital and then transferred to University Hospitals, Iowa City, where she died.
An 11-year-old passenger was was treated and released.
