County Attorney Walton is doing fine

I am responding to Chris Pries’ letter in support of her husband. (“Too many ‘lucky’ felons,” July 11).

She asks how many lucky felons are there in Scott County. The answer is very few. I can assure you that those felons who are prosecuted by Mike Walton and his staff rarely feel lucky. Mike Walton and the Scott County attorney’s office prosecute thousands of charges every year.

The reputation of the office is one of professionalism and competency. There are many dangerous individuals serving long prison sentences as a result of the efforts of the current county attorney staff. It is in the best interests of Scott County that Mike Walton continue as our county attorney.
