Cyclist lanes needed on Q-C streets

I am an avid cyclist here in the Quad-Cities and am disappointed at the lack of bicycle lanes on streets in the metropolitan area.

With gas prices ever on the rise, more people will begin riding their bicycles as a means of transportation. Would it be that hard to add bicycle lanes to our streets?

As time goes on the number of bicycle commuters will only go up and the city should accommodate them.
