Moline’s Heritage Addition resembled a war zone with downed trees, power lines and wind damage across the neighborhood.
“It looks like a tornado hit,’’ said Mary Francescon, who lives at 49th Avenue and 50th Street. “I have lived here 22 years and I have never seen anything like this.”
“We just lost branches, but down the street there is a tree totally uprooted at our neighbor’s,” she said. “Two doors down, the power pole just broke off in their yard.”
Nearby, Bill Engle was surveying fallen branches and downed lines in his yard. “What a mess. I don’t know where to start,” he said. A tree split in his backyard, landing partially on his house, although it appears the house was not damaged.
