The hospital in Silvis, Ill., is now operating on auxiliary power from its generators because of the power outage related to today’s storms.
The air conditioning system at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, is working only in some areas, according to Craig Cooper, spokesman.
“It has been a very difficult day at Illini, but because of the exemplary work of our staff and their ability to pitch in wherever they have been needed, we are managing the situation very well considering the circumstances,” said Chuck Bruhn, Illini operations vice president.
