Storm: Blue Grass residents clean up

By mid-day, people were already picking up and sawing through broken tree limbs throughout Blue Grass.

Trees are down all over, laying shattered on power poles and streets, Blue Grass Police Chief John Jensen said.

“If you can avoid Blue Grass, avoid it. There’s only one business with power, everyone else is down,” he said.

Police will have extra patrols out until the power outages are solved.  Blue Grass City Hall was open with a single operable phone. Public Works Department crews are trying to keep the boosters going to power the municipal water system, he said. Having water available is critical, especially if there’s a fire.
