Davenport police are seeking  a “person of interest” in the investigation of  a man who has been reported missing.

Michael James Delaney, 49, has not been seen or heard from since July 3. Delaney is described as white, 5-foot-10, weighing 190 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Police describe Delaney’s disappearance as uncharacteristic of him as he lives with his 17-year-old daughter and has always maintained contact with her many times a day.

The “person of interest” being sought by the Davenport Police Department is Mark Edward Handlon. Handlon, 53, is wanted on warrants by Bettendorf and Moline police departments.  He is suspected of taking a white 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck from a Bettendorf car dealership in June and not returning it.  He also is a suspect in the theft of money from a Moline restaurant.

Anyone with any knowledge of the whereabouts of Delaney or his vehicle —  a white 2000-04 extended cab Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck  with Z-71 on side of box — is requested to contact the Davenport Police Department at (563) 326-7979, Detective Shannon Hughes at (563) 326-6147 or Crime Stoppers at (309) 762-9500.
