The city of Moline has been divided into three areas for collection of debris, brush and tree limbs from the storm.
City crews will work in each area Monday through Friday beginning at the Rock River, working their way north to the Mississippi River. Crews will begin working at the location they ended the previous day, but will not be working Saturdays or Sundays. Residents are asked to be patient because debris collection may take several weeks.
The Debris Collection Hotline at (309) 797-0425 plays a recorded message on the location daily or residents can visit the city’s Web site at moline.il.us for the daily location.
Residents are asked to place tree limbs and brush at the front curb. There is no charge for collection. Cut limbs to 4- to 6-foot lengths to make it easier for crews to collect. The city does not have a dropoff site, so residents wishing to dispose of debris privately should make alternate arrangements.
Garbage collection remains on schedule. Yard waste and special pickups will resume the week of July 28. Residents are reminded of the no-burn order for all of Moline until further notice, including leaf-burning and recreational burning.
The City of Moline Water Division said Moline’s tap water is safe to drink and there is no need to boil water. Moline’s water plant remained fully operational during the power outages.
John Deere Road and 41st Street south of Avenue of the Cities have reopened, as has Moline Public Library at 3210 41st St., the downtown library, Moline Activity Center and Greenvalley Park.
